1960's Bungalow, Re-imagined, York
Re-modeling and extending of estate bungalow to create 2 large satellite bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms. The pitched roof extension mirrors the existing bungalow footprint and houses a large bedroom and en suite to the first floor over a large garage/hobby space. Most of the internal walls of the original bungalow were removed with one large steel inserted to pick up the roof structure and gallery/office to the new first floor. The ground floor is now a social space combining kitchen/dining and living areas with a separate utility room. A new flat roof extension houses the second bedroom and bathroom. The building has been insulated to a high level and provides low running costs. The larch cladding will silver up over time and was chosen to naturalise the building in its environment whilst creating a low key garden pavilion feel. completed 2025, design,planning and building regulations.
